THE Christmas Story
I looked up the Christmas Story on google, when doing research and was sad to find that most of what came up was all about Santa Clause and I had to type in the Bible Story on Christmas to find it. While I think Santa Clause is a cute idea, I think the world has gone Way to far with the whole thing. I watched a movie the other evening and they actually had Santa Clause almost playing the roll of God and had him heeling people. This made me very sad.
I love putting up a Christmas Tree every year and I don't think giving presents is wrong at all, I think its the way we handle it. If we are so caught up in presents and Santa Clause that we totally forget about the birth of Jesus, I think that is very sad. We need to focus on giving more than receiving and remember the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.
I just wanted to put my thought in about giving presents. It can go two ways: the first is that we get all excited and anxious about what we're getting for Christmas and forget all about the true meaning. On Christmas morning I still go and have a look at the presents under the tree. But my family always made sure we read the Christmas Story before we did anything Christmas Day.
The second way is: God gave the best present of all, He sent his son to be born, that one day he would die for us to wash away all our sin, that we may have hope of eternal life with
Him. And though we don't know the exact day he was born, we celebrate his birthday on Christmas. Anyway, when I give presents to my family and friends or receive presents, I think it is supposed to remind us about the Best present of all, Jesus!
I hope this little insight helps and I hope and wish everyone a great Christmas:) enjoy the Story!

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

A Devotion On Treasures
Matthew 6:19-21
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steel:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steel:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
This scripture doesn't mean that you can't buy a new computer or by a new wardrobe. What it means is that you shouldn't buy lots and lots of things that you don't need and also that you shouldn't be focusing on your trophies, but rather focusing on the treasures of heaven. Because the things that we store up for ourselves on earth are just going to break, rust, etc. We should focus on more spiritual things, like doing good deeds, making atheists believers, doing the right thing, etc. We can receive the treasures in Heaven if we truly believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior.
"Father, help me to not put all my time on my trophies and treasures here on earth, but help me to be a light for you and help me to store up for myself treasures in heaven. Thank you for everything that you do for me and thank you for dying on the cross for me, to wash away my sins. Its through Jesus I pray, Amen."

14 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4You know the way to the place where I am going."
This is a wonderful scripture. There is a lot of hope in these words. And the best thing about it, its all true! God does not want us to worry about what will happen to us in the future. Beleive in God and trust Him. He has gone to heaven to prepare a place for us, for all who believes in Him. And He will come back and take us to be with Him. Beleive and Trust Him.

Tip of the Day
Sometimes life gets hard. Especially school and work. Sometimes people can be, well not very nice. But we have to remember that no matter what people say or how many friends we have or even if we think we don't have any friends at all, the truth is, we do. We have the greatest friend of all. A friend that will never leave us or forsake us. A friend that loves us, no matter what we look like, smell like, act like, or dress like. God wants to be your friend and is always there for us. But sometimes when things are going tuff we forget that He really is there.
I have a little cross that I can put in my pocket, armband and on a chain around my neck, so when I'm feeling low I hold the cross in my hand and know that I'm not alone and that He's looking out for me. He's there to be my friend and to stay. It doesn't have to be an expensive cross, it can be anything that reminds you of Him. It's just a good little reminder :)

Scripture of the day
But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
I like this scripture a lot. Whatever I'm doing whether it be going to school, out with my friends or just going shopping, I remember this verse and try to remember to have faith in every situation, to love in all surcomstances and to have hope, because no matter what, Jesus is always there for me and He's got my back, even on the bad days. And I can always know that I have hope of salvation through him. So this morning: Be Sober, Put on your breastplate of Faith and Love and put on your Helmet of hope, because you too have the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ.
"Father, help me to have faith and to love others in any situation at any time, even if I'm having a bad day. Thank you for the hope we have in you. May I be a light to others. It's through Jesus I pray, Amen"

This hits the spot right here. From reading this verse we know how Much God loves us. For he sent his only Son to die on the cross for us, to forgive us for our sins, that we may have eternal life with him in heaven someday. Parents and Grandparents would you send your sons or daughters to die for others? That would be very hard, but thats how much God cares for us and how much he loves us.
All we have to do is believe in him and put our faith and trust in him.

I have a white board in my room and when I find a helpful or encouraging scripture I write it on there. Then I read it every day, until I know the scripture. This is very helpful when needing a little encouragement to start the day off with.
